Default new e-drain mes?

I was just messing around with skills and i came across this: The main problem with enegry drain skills is the long recharge. so i created this build.

Me/R

fast casting:6+1
domination:11+2+1
insperation:8+1
wilderness survival:10

skills:

Energy surge(E)
Energy burn
energy tap
diversion
power leak
drain enchantment
serpents quickness
ressurection signet

basic idea is to use serpents quickness to allow more energy drain. I included energy tap because the increased casting rate requires it. While it does not provide any support, this build can almost completly shut down an opposing spellcaster. If defensive support is needed drain an attacking caster and shut him down to reduce dmg.

I am unsure which armor is the best for this build however, +hp is always a viable choice becuase this build lacks defense.

I use a domination set and a insperation set for casting each type of spell to further increase the casting time.

please give your comments and tell me how to improve this build or why its totaly useless(which it might be).

what does this have to do with general gvg discussion? Individual builds go in the often scary campfire folder.

Oh, and energy tap is fairly crappy.

Bear in mind that this build gets owned by simply switching energy sets. Most monks (or casters in general) bring a negative energy set. Unless you come up against an idiot, in which case you should win anyway, this build wont win you anything. A good mesmer can shut down a monk at a critical moment with just surge and burn without gimping their secondary profession and bringing a hard res instead. Or speccing into illusion and gaining the wonders of distortion. If it's a pve build then fine, though

you're more likely better off using a Surgmer to pick on the warriors and assassin, not the casters.

The easy damage and energy drain is fun. But unreliable since the damage is based on the energy of the target.

Surge is great for PVE, and PVP that doesnt matter. And believe me when I say this to you, because I have the Armor Buster build in the Mesmer Builds thread. I'm a big fan of Surge, but I know that this build just wouldnt work in PVP.

Serpents Quickness is nice. Especially for Blackout. But I wouldn't use it for the sole purpose of burning energy; E-Denial is too easily defeated by focus-swapping.

I would much rather use serpents ton something like a diveresion mesmer or something, allowing a hell of a lot of diversions (like an MoR mesmer).

Me/R
(This will make your opponent scream OMG NOOB fo' sure!

fast casting:6+1
domination:11+2+1
insperation:8+1
wilderness survival:10

skills:

Energy surge(E)
(The are better elites, unless you plan for a VoD build)
Energy burn
(Fine, I guess)
energy tap
(No, just no.)
diversion
(Spam it.)
power leak
(When you already have drain enchant? (""\'(X.x)'/"")
drain enchantment
(Yeah, you may want to choose between PDrain or Drain Enchant)
serpents quickness
(lols)
ressurection signet
(Suprised you brought this.)

I think one of the main problems you will is, 1) you wont be taken very seriously. 2) The rate you drain energy with a normal surge build is fine, what I think you may find, is that you will over burn energy, gathering on how the monk could just focus swap, and if they are at 0 while swapped, you will just be wasting energy. I don't see your build being used anywhere else but RA.
